Morrison Zion Lutheran hosts many different Bible studies throughout the week. These varied gatherings are held on mornings and evenings, weekdays and weekends, for both youth and adults and much more – all in an effort to meet the spiritual needs of its members and to praise God.  Morrison Zion’s Bible classes at this time include:

SUNDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY (9:15 a.m. in the Church Basement):

This study is the Adult Christ Light.  We will look at lessons from the Old Testament this year.  Join us at 9:15 a.m. in the church basement and bring the family!  These studies are a great way to review basic Bible history lessons and apply them to your daily life.  Come and learn from one another!

SUNDAY MORNING BIBLE STUDY (9:15 a.m. in the School Commons):

We meet each Sunday at 9:15 a.m. in the commons.

We will begin a new study:  Peter, from the God’s People Series.  Follow Peter through his personal encounters with Jesus and his spiritual journey from a fisherman to a “fisher of men.”  As you read about the events of Peter’s life, you’ll discover familiar shortcomings that we all encounter:  lacking trust in God (walking on water), often denying our Savior in moments of pressure (denying Jesus before the rooster crowed), and putting our own wants before the Lord’s expectations of us (falling asleep in the garden).  You’ll also learn of Peter’s mission following Jesus’ ascension into heaven and how it applies in your life.  The book that accompanies this study is available for $5 in the sacristy in church.  Please sign the sheet on the desk when you take a book and pay Pastor Ott when you are able.

(This Bible Study does not meet during the summer months.)

SUNDAY EVENING BOOK STUDY (7 p.m. in the Church Basement):

Will the Real Jesus Please Stand Up?  12 False Christs is the title of the book our Sunday night book Discussion Class is reading.  This book aims to address the many incorrect versions of Jesus present in today’s culture.  Whether Jesus is seen as a patriot, a social justice warrior, a therapist, or a giver of bling, these many false christs diminish the real Christ – the Savior of the world who defies our culture’s standards.  The book costs $15.  There is a sign up sheet in the basement of church.  Sigh up today, even if you can’t join us for the discussions on Sunday night.

YOUTH GROUP BIBLE STUDY (Sundays at 7 p.m. in the School Commons):

These studies pertain to issues which concern today’s teens from a Christian point of view.  All teens from 9th grade through 12th grade are invited to attend.  We usually have “Open Gym” following the Bible study for those who would like to enjoy some extra fellowship with kids their age.  Join us and bring a friend!

Confirmation Class for those in grades 5-8 who do not attend our school will meet from 5:00-6:15 p.m. each Wednesday.  We meet in the school basement.

Bible History Class for those in grades 1-4 who do not attend our school will meet from 5:30-6:15 p.m. each Wednesday.  We meet in the school commons.

(We do not meet during the summer months.)

MONDAY/WEDNESDAY NIGHT MEN’S BIBLE STUDY (and optional basketball/cards):

Men, join us Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. (Mondays at 7:00 p.m. during Lent) for an opportunity to grow in God’s Word together and study it in light of our specific roles as brothers in Christ.  There will be an open gym afterwards for those interested in playing basketball.  Even if you don’t want to play basketball, come to the Bible study and stick around to play cards or just hang out and get to know other guys in the congregation.  All ages are encouraged and welcomed.  We hope to see you all there!

The Women’s Bible Study is held every Thursday evening at 8:00 pm.  The Bible study is hosted by women who attend the Bible study, providing a comfortable setting in which to study God’s Word and have candid discussion.  If you would like to attend this study, there is no obligation to host!  Women of all age groups are welcome to come.  We will discuss Love Rules:  A Study of the Ten Commandments by Christina Hergenrader.  We will read the story of spiritual transformation, learn how God wants us to love better, and help us see how we can love better.  We will discuss one commandment each week with four devotions that approach the topic from different angles.  The devotions will be followed by questions to discuss and we will dig deeper with provided Bible references.  The book can be ordered online at or Abbey Laabs can order you one.  If you are interested in hosting or have any questions, please contact Abbey Laabs at 920.901.9429 or

This is the name of a Bible Information class that covers the basic doctrines that we teach and believe.  If you are already a member, it is a great review of confirmation class.  It uses the same format that grades 5-8 use in Confirmation Class.  If you are not a member, this class introduces you to what we believe.  After completing the course, you are welcome to join the congregation if you also believe what we teach.  If you are interested this class, please talk to Pastor Ott.

If you have a child between the ages of 3 and 5, feel free to send them.  At 9:15 a.m. each Sunday, we will meet for about 45 minutes in the Bible Classroom in the church basement.  We will read a short story from the Bible, sing songs of praise, and do an art activity.  Each of the children will have their own folder, which they should try to bring each week.  The children will also be singing in church a few Sundays.  Please watch your child’s folder and the church bulletin for those dates.  Coming to Sunday School each week is an excellent opportunity to learn about the Savior, but we also encourage each family to sit down and review the stories with their child and do the coloring sheets and activities that are sent home with them each week.  If you want to sit in with your child to see what they are learning, please feel free.  We thank God for allowing us this opportunity to share his Word with the young believers of our congregation.   (We do not meet during the summer months.)

These Vacation Bible School style events are for children ages 3 through those in the 4th grade.  We learn the Christmas story at Christmas for Kids and the story of Easter at Easter for Kids.  We sing songs, make crafts, and enjoy lunch together.  Invite a friend or neighbor to join us!  This is a free program and open to children age 3 through 4th grade.
